I don't know where all the 5 star reviews came from could not possibly be the same book I read. Noah is a bad boy, kicked out of school for fighting so his mom wants to start over and moves him to a small town. But he simply picks up where he left off. While waiting in the principals office, he sees Lauren and thinks she is absolutely beautiful. She unlike Noah is in the office for a scheduled meeting. This is the beginning of the book and also the end. When the book starts the characters are in high school but there is no growth in personality. Later in life Noah simply becomes more arrogant, irresponsible, and completely obnoxious. Still fighting as an adult. Lauren is just as immature, whining and complaining about every little thing. Unfortunately Lauren gets pregnant with Noah's baby. Even though he says he wants to be a good father, he doesn't clean up his act until almost the last page. They were both so ridiculous I couldn't take their situation seriously. Definitely not worth 5 stars but even 1 is too many.

First Comes Love edition by Emily Goodwin Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Noah the “bad boy” and Lauren the “good girl” end up in a drunken one night stand. Now they both have to come to terms with the results of that one night stand – a baby! Can Noah drop his “bad boy” image and be the man/father of Lauren’s dreams? Can Lauren stop being the “good girl” and start believing that all men are not Disney material?
Can Lauren and Noah work through this pregnancy together? Can they both make some changes for the other person? Some good one liners and a few great laughs tossed into the mix made we keep wanting to flip the pages.
This was a quick and easy read, which I enjoyed but there are two items that stood out for me –
1. I would have liked to see a little more interaction between Noah and his parents. I needed some answers/closure on that relationship.
2. This book should be edited once again for many spelling and grammar mistakes.
This is the first book by Emily Goodwin I have read and I’m honestly floored by how amazing it was. Self published books generally only go one of two ways for me. Really amazing, blow my socks off –or– terrible and I wish I never spent money on it. This book feel into the first category.
So I really enjoyed the message and situation that both Lauren and Noah got into. I’m sure there are books out there about this sort of thing but this was the first that I can recall reading about a one night stand that ended in a baby. The romance was pretty instant since both had been fighting their attracting since high school but I enjoyed the lack out drama via outside influences. (No cheating, no shameless flirting woman trying to steal Noah away, etc.) Just regular old couple issues and miscommunication. Although I said it was amazing (and I honestly think so) I’m not going to say there is anything groundbreaking in this story. It’s contemporary romance so there really isn’t a lot you can do to change that mold. But it was really well written and I enjoyed it the whole time.
Would I buy this book? I already did.
Would I recommend it? Yes!
Would I re-read it? This is a toss up. Fluffy contemporary is generally a one time read for me but I really did enjoy the plot of this one so maybe.
3.5 Stars
First Comes Love is a sweet, yet predictable read, that I couldn't put down.
We first meet Noah and Lauren when they are in junior high, and Noah is the bad boy at the new school, and Lauren is the goody two shoes who is also Noah's best friends little sister. He's instantly enamored with her, but knows she's off limits. Flash forward 10 years and after one drunken night their life is about to change.
Both Noah and Lauren are not ready for what comes next for them, but they make it work. Both of them have some maturity issues and Noah's "sex on the brain" all the time, got a little repetitive for me, but how much he cared for Lauren? That made me love him. I wish he would have opened up to her more instead of letting everything come to a head like it did, things may have been easier for both of them if he wasn't afraid to say what he needed to. Lauren on the other hand is a bit neurotic, and immature at times. Sure, she got herself into this situation, but always waiting for Noah to fail really grated on my nerves, especially when she said she was falling hard for him.
The back and forth between these two is hilarious at times, and other times it just falls short. You can definitely tell they belong together, but overcoming everything isn't easy, and it takes a toll on both of them. Lauren's family also never fully believing in Noah was odd. He's been a part of their lives forever, and sure he wasn't always a model citizen, but if he was good enough to be in their family as Colin's friend, why is he not good enough for their daughter who loves him?
This book is definitely predictable, and I really enjoyed it, I just got stuck on Noah wanting sex all the time, and some of the lull's in the book, but overall it was a good read!
Noah & Lauren meet in high school. He says he's never seen someone so beautiful, but he can't make a move on her. She's his best friend's little sister. He's also the bad boy who always seems to get in trouble. So for years he thinks about her, comparing the women he's with to her.
Lauren is 22 years old. Had a ton of bad dates & working towards her goal of becoming a vet. After a bad date that she was set up again by family & friends. She ends up at a bar. When Noah looks up he can't believe Lauren is there & alone. She ends up drunk, one thing leads to another. She ends up pregnant!
Lauren hopes after telling Noah he'll be there for their baby. They try to work on a relationship. Noah hopes he can make things work. Since his home life wasn't the best. And he can make Lauren fall in love with him,as he's been in love with him since high school. I love that after some tough times in their relationship,he strives to be better for Lauren & the baby. And that Lauren tries to be tough with him,but can see him being a better man.
